Opening Trades

Step-by-step guide to opening leveraged long and short positions on dominance indices.

Select a pair

Pick the dominance market that matches your thesis:

  • BTCDOM tracks Bitcoin's share of total crypto market cap.
  • ETHDOM tracks Ethereum's share.
  • USDTDOM tracks Tether's share.
  • BNBDOM tracks BNB's share.
  • SOLDOM tracks Solana's share.

Choose direction

Go long if you expect dominance to rise, short if you expect it to fall. Check the funding rate before committing. If your side is crowded, you'll pay funding to the other side for the duration of the trade.

Pick order type

Market orders execute immediately at the current oracle price. Limit orders execute when the index hits your target price — use these to buy below or sell above the current level.

Market orders guarantee a fill. Limit orders wait for your price target and may never trigger.

ORDER TYPE EXPLAINER
Order Type
Direction
Current: 52.5%
Your long opens immediately at the current oracle price (52.5%). Guaranteed fill.

Set collateral

Enter the USDC amount backing your position. This is the capital at risk. Make sure your wallet holds enough USDC on Base before proceeding.

Adjust leverage

Slide from 1x to 250x. Position size = collateral x leverage. Higher leverage amplifies both gains and losses.

Positions at 20x or below that reduce OI skew qualify for the 0.05% maker fee instead of 0.1%. See Fees.

Set TP/SL (optional)

Attach take-profit and stop-loss targets at open, or add them later from the position panel. TP triggers a full close when your profit target hits. SL closes the position to cap losses.

Take profit is capped at 900% of collateral. Plan your position sizing around this ceiling.

Review and confirm

The trade panel shows your position size, liquidation price, and opening fee before you submit. Confirm the transaction in your wallet. The position appears in your active list once the oracle fulfills the order.
